Val D’Isere Ski Resort

Val D’Isere Ski Resort is world class resort, forming part of the Espace Killy ski domain with Tignes, and is situated at 1850m. The extended ski season and variety of mountain sport challenges ensures an eclectic stream of sport and fun loving visitors – in the summer too – which gives Val d’Isere it’s unique magnetism.

Within the Espace Killy, there are approximately 300kms of skiable piste. Val d’Isere’s share amounts to 150kms of prepared pistes, plus superb and seemingly endless off-piste. It also has two ever-improving snow parks, plus year-round skiing on the glaciers of Pissaillas and the Grande Motte atTignes . The ski area ranges from an altitude 1550m to 3456m and caters for all levels, especially intermediates. Beginners can enjoy the experience of learning on the high altitude beginner slopes.

Val d’Isere is close to being the ideal resort. It is snow sure, ski in ski out, it is at high altitude – yet it has everything required to sustain it as a classy, sophisticate winter resort. Unlike Tignes, it is an attractive place to stay, with an eclectic mix of chalet apartments and individual private chalets. Property prices here are among the highest in France, probably with the exception of Courchevel 1850. Prices for lunch in the mountain restaurants are also expensive but not unexpected. Val d’Isere has a long season and is very much a favoured resort with visitors returning year after year to some of the most extensive, exciting and varied slopes and off-piste in the Alps – then there’s the energy of the village and the night life!
